Areas of Practice
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is concerned with prevention and management of movement disorders arising from conditions and diseases occurring throughout the lifespan. Physical therapy is performed by either a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant under the direction of a physician.
Pre and Post surgical care
Research supports pre-operative care by a physical therapist prior to surgical intervention to improve surgical recovery and to help to achieve post-surgical rehabilitation success. Post-surgical physical therapy facilitates patients to return to their prior activities without compromising their surgical repair, correction or replacement.
Spine Rehabilitation
Two of the most well-known back strengthening exercises are: McKenzie exercises and Dynamic Lumbar Stabilization. These back exercises are generally first learned by working with a physical therapist who can demonstrate the exercises and correct a patient's form to ensure strengthening and/or back pain relief is achieved. Although McKenzie exercises and dynamic lumbar stabilization exercises tend to be used for specific conditions, the two forms of physical therapy exercise may also be combined when appropriate.
Sports Performance
Athletes require a particular approach to conditioning and post-injury rehabilitation depending on the physical demands of your specific sport. At Swift Rehabilitation we have physical therapists with backgrounds in a variety of different sports, including dance, baseball/softball, basketball, football and golf.
Industrial and Occupational Rehabilitation
We work with your employer, your workers compensation provider, your case manager, as well as your doctor to facilitate full recovery and return to full duty after a work related injury. We also provide ergonomic assessments, on-site evaluations and lift training in order to prevent work related injuries.
Foot Orthotics
Orthoses (orthoses being the correct term but widely referred to as “orthotics”) are a wide ranging orthopedic tool. They can be used to modify a simple foot problem or be designed and built to act as support for the knee, hips and trunk while walking.
